The new crop of political leaders have been admonished to choose their words wisely as in the popular Yoruba proverb that Ọ̀rọ̀ rírọ̀ ni í yọ obì lápò, ọ̀rọ̀ líle nií yọ ọfà lápó when interpreted in English signifies that soft words can pull kolanuts from a pouch, as much as strong words do pull arrows from a quiver. This admonition came forth from the charismatic caretaker chairman of Labour party in Lagos, Omoba Adesoyin Olumide on Monday via an interview session that was conducted by hon Okufuwa Samad Oluwatoyin the partys public relations officer. Omoba Adesoyin Olumide denounced the maiden speech by the newly inuagurated APC government led by president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and described the approach and announcement of the cancelation of fuel subsidy as rather harsh, ill-timed and unnecessary.
