Image
The exceptionally revealing post by the indomitable and forthright Prof Bolaji O. Akinyemi, Nigeria's  Former External Affairs Minister, on the devious plots, plans, schemes and underground maneuvers of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT) jabs to frustrate, disorganize, disarray the efforts of the Labour Party is most timely.  In Labour Party, our efforts shall not be in vain in Jesus name, Amen. For several months, Lagos State Labour Party has been engrossed in very intense and intractable political wranglings to the extent that no one knows the real gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Lagos. There has been series push and shove between Prof Ifamamridi and one  Mr Salako.  Incidentally, Salako is being perceived in many quarters as an APC mole,  a job man planted by Bat 🦇 to destroy Labour Party in Lagos State. The National Leadership of the Labour Party has an urgent task to mobilize and move very quickly and swiftly, weigh in to resolve this problem befor...

PRESS STATEMENT Labour Leaders Charged To Rescue Lagos State Labour Party

Image
Organized Trade Unions under the auspices of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) have been enjoined to take urgent steps to restore normalcy in Lagos State Labour Party. In a press statement issued in Lagos today and signed by its Vice Chairman, Comrade Tony Masha, the Lagos State Labour Party regretted that the Labour Party which was formed by the two Labour Centres as the last hope to bring succour to Nigerian people is being derailed in Lagos state by unscrupulous persons. It regretted that an indiscretion of the National Working Committee of Labour Party in gathering a motley crowd of about 25 persons who are not known to existing Labour Party in Lagos state and who know nothing whatsoever about Labour Party democratic culture and constituted them as Caretaker Committee members in Lagos state had created a scenario where the noble ideals of the founding fathers of the party are desecrated by transactional politicians. "We started to ...

Image
In this interview with MAYOWA SAMUEL, the Chairman of the Labour Party in Lagos State, Ifagbemi Awamaridi, insists he is still an authentic state party chairman. He described the recent substitution primary and the reconciliatory meeting as a charade and a comedy show. Excerpts: The national leadership of your party insists you are not its authentic Lagos governorship candidate, a claim which you have vehemently opposed. A governorship substitution primary election was also conducted to determine the party’s flag bearer for the state as they insist you were a placeholder. What’s your own side of the story? If you are conversant with the Electoral Act, it is very clear. It says anybody that wins the primary is the candidate. I was the one that won the primary duly conducted and attended by INEC from Abuja and Lagos. Eventually, my name came out in INEC as the party’s governorship candidate in the state, the particulars are there. According to the Electoral Act, the only way my name can ...
