four students of University of Lagos (UNILAG), Adeboye Timothy, Aramowo Stephen, Awe-Obe Raphael and Iwerima Jacob were arrested for acting suspiciously at the graveside of a colleague, Eniola Jacobs, who died from an intake of a lethal pest-control chemical widely known as "Sniper."                                                                             Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Police Command, Mr. Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said the students were members, along with the deceased, of the Cherubim and Seraphim campus fellowship‎. Chad has withdrawn from the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers due to the economic situation in the country, and will not honour the return leg against Tanzania on March 28, according to Chad Football Association Secretary General,Mahamoud. According to the regulations of CAF, the teams in Group G have been reduced to three, Egypt, Nigeria and Tanzania, and previous matches against Chad will no longer be taken into account in the ranking. The withdrawal means that Chad's group results will be nullified, with leaders Egypt – who initially thrashed the outsiders 5-1 away from home – now on four points instead of seven. Second-placed Nigeria have been deducted three points as well following their 2-0 victory over Chad, with the Super Eagles now on two points. Tanzania are also on two. Damilare Famuyiwa, a journalist and student of the Nigeria Institute Of Journalism (NIJ) Ogba, Lagos State is allegedly being punished for reporting Mavin’s Star, Korede Bello’s absence in school. Damilare who leaked out the story to the media was reportedly marked down in the last semester examinations with very low scores in virtually all the courses, while Koredo had very high grades. Policeman Arrests Eight-year-old Pupil for Reporting Abusive Teacher

An eight-year-old pupil of Prospect Primary School located in Akute, Ogun State was arrested and detained by the Ajuwon Police Division for reporting a teacher in his school. The schoolboy identified as Oyindamola Onimole was reportedly held by the police between 6pm on Wednesday and 12pm on Thursday, after he reported his teacher identified as Mrs. Oni to his mother.  According to reports, the teacher had maltreated the young boy at school and the child reported the matter to his mother.  The boy’s mother then visited the school to complain about the assault to the authorities. The World Bank has identified power, corruption and access to finance as the bane of the private sector in Nigeria.  According to the bank, this has resulted in as high as 17-20 per cent losses in sales recorded by Nigerian firms.  To make matters worse, rather than improving, power generation dropped again, yesterday, to 2,884.30 megawatts, MW, a development the Ministry of Power struggled to explain.
