This historic, strategic decision is born out of profound respect for the party’s institutional growth, systemic stability, and the immense logistical realities of the current political landscape.

The Logistics of Democracy: A Strategic Realignment

As a young, rapidly growing, and deeply grassroots-oriented political movement, the YPP is structurally committed to absolute democratic transparency.

However, executing a nationwide direct primary across all 8,809 wards and 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) presents unprecedented human and logistical demands.

Recognising these intense operational complexities, Hon. Filani has chosen to put the collective interest of the party above personal ambition. 

By stepping aside, he clears a seamless path for another qualified aspirant to steer the ship of the party’s presidential candidacy, ensuring the YPP remains a unified, formidable force ahead of the general elections.
