Our attention has been drawn to a statement that was credited to HE Peter obi, the labour party presidential candidate at the 2023 general elections.  

While addressing Nigerians on X space,  Peter obi was quoted as saying that "we promised to build Nigeria, we did not promise to build a New Labour Party". We find that statement to be shocking, appalling, awful, disgraceful, horrible and extremely shameful. 

However we must state that we are not surprised at his comment especially as he had always exhibited acts of betrayal, disloyalty, treachery and outright breach of trust.

Consequently, the labour party Nigeria will like to tender an unreserved apology to all Nigerians and especially all members of labour party for our indescretion, miscalculation, mistake and error of allowing a serial betrayal, insincere and dishonest individual to desecrate our well respected and Honourable platform to take advantage of innocent and unsuspecting populace.

Accordingly, despite the fact that his selfish disposition had always been conspicuously obvious to us even before the election we decided that because of the need to protect the good name that the party represents it was imperative to keep such egocentric, self centered, self seeking, and ethnocentric malady of his away from the public awareness.

Finally, we are quite happy that the truth cannot be hidden from the public glare for too long and he has by himself via his conduct, utterances and attachment to illegality inadvertently exposed his true nature and character.

Ignore all machinations, Sola Ebiseni remains the Governorship candidate of Labour Party. Once again, the Labour Party Campaign Organisation is inundated with calls on the purported replacement of Chief Sola Ebiseni, our Governorship candidate, with Ayo Olorunfemi less than 24 hours to the Ondo State Governorship election tomorrow. Contrary to the false report, the candidacy of Ebiseni was the decision of the Party presided over by the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure of which Ayo Olorunfemi is a member after the latter, who was a placeholder, voluntarily withdrew his candidacy backed with sworn affidavit, an undisputed fact confirmed by the Courts.
