The Lagos state house of assembly candidate for Labour party in Kosofe constituency 2, hon Okufuwa Samad Oluwatoyin has come out to codemn the attack on the entourage of the deputy governorship candidate of the party princess Islamiat Oyefusi who was on a market place campaign in Aguda surulere in a now viral video on Wednesday afternoon.

Additionally he urged the head of the nations security outfits to be up and doing to curb the increasing surge in electoral violence as he fears that it portens great danger with the possibility of being escalated into a civil unrest.

Furthermore, hon Okufuwa Samad Oluwatoyin encouraged all lovers of good governance not to be detered with the current spate of violence as an attack by the enemies of progress is usually a proof that the enemy anticipates your success. He added by saying that one very important ingredient of success is a good, wide-awake, persistent and tireless enemy, and urged them to defeat their enemies with success by voting for the right candidates on election day.

Also honourable Okufuwa Samad Oluwatoyin spoke about the renewed use of ethnic and religious emotional sentiments stating that politicians seems to have perfected this tool to tilt innocent electorates to their side, he added that Karl Marx’s most well-known observation concerning religion is that it is ‘the opium of the people’. The meaning would seem to be clear: opium is a drug that dulls the senses and helps one forget the miseries of the past and the present. He then gave out the advice that Nigerians should consider the torture and pain that they have been facing in the hands of the current political class and make the wise choice.

Once again, the Labour Party Campaign Organisation is inundated with calls on the purported replacement of Chief Sola Ebiseni, our Governorship candidate, with Ayo Olorunfemi less than 24 hours to the Ondo State Governorship election tomorrow. Contrary to the false report, the candidacy of Ebiseni was the decision of the Party presided over by the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure of which Ayo Olorunfemi is a member after the latter, who was a placeholder, voluntarily withdrew his candidacy backed with sworn affidavit, an undisputed fact confirmed by the Courts.
