Elections should not be a do or die affair- Hon Okufuwa Samad Oluwatoyin

The Lagos state assembly candidate for Labour party in Kosofe constituency 2 , Hon Okufuwa Samad has called on all candidates for different positions in the race towards the 2023 general election not to view the contest as a do-or-die affair.

The sociologist and social media influencer while addressing newsmen also made a call to all Nigerians to get actively involved and participate in election matters as it is the only way the country can produce good and competent leaders.

Subsequently, in his address he pointed out that the next general elections in the country will be very crucial for the growth or otherwise of the nation and said that if we fail to elect leaders that will focus on growth and development of the citizens, he expressed his fears that it might be disastrous for all.


Finally, he ended his address by advicing all Nigerians and especially the religious leaders to be bold to speak the truth to power as in his word it is the only way we can nib the downward trend in the country in the bud.

In a Friday letter addressed to the Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, the NLC accused the Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr Julius Abure, and his associates of planning an illegal convention in defiance of court orders. Ignore all machinations, Sola Ebiseni remains the Governorship candidate of Labour Party. Once again, the Labour Party Campaign Organisation is inundated with calls on the purported replacement of Chief Sola Ebiseni, our Governorship candidate, with Ayo Olorunfemi less than 24 hours to the Ondo State Governorship election tomorrow. Contrary to the false report, the candidacy of Ebiseni was the decision of the Party presided over by the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure of which Ayo Olorunfemi is a member after the latter, who was a placeholder, voluntarily withdrew his candidacy backed with sworn affidavit, an undisputed fact confirmed by the Courts.
