Matters Arising: An Overture Too Many: Let Us Quit These Old Games
I was dismayed by the statement credited to the former Publicity Secretary of our great party and the subsequent rebuttal by the Publicity Secretary of the rulling party in the state.
It was claimed that the former spokesperson for our party in an interview made offers to the incumbent Governor of the state to consider vying for his second term in office on the platform of our party as his chances are slim in the rulling party.
This old game as it is widely believed has never taken us anywhere, it is rather demoralizing our loyal and committed party faithful as well as 'de-marketing' the party. Must we always wait on the rejected members of the ruling party as our party's lifeline? Haven't we had wonderfully performing, qualified and capable party members in the waiting?
It is all about Ambode coming, Obanikoro coming and now Sanwo-Olu. What value has the incumbent Governor who is fast loosing popularity got to add to our party? Lagos would rather prefer any other candidate to Sanwo-Olu.
It high time we learnt and imbibe the culture of self pride politically, we shouldn't be of the second fiddle mentality all the way. Let us quit that game!
