OAOE Foundation Caters to Aged Persons across Nigeria, Builds a Home

Determined to cater to the needs of the aged and retirees in the society despite the harsh economy, Olori Aderonke Omolola Erinle (OAOE) Foundation is providing financial assistance and emotional support to the vulnerable with a home for their comfort.

The foundation made this known at the media parley to flag off the official launch of the Foundation on September 14 in Victoria Island Lagos while building a sustainable home that offers value and pulls in the resources.

According to the Founder, Mrs. Aderonke Erinle, the Olori, OAOE foundation was an idea and thought borne out of the passion she has for the elderly.

“Having watched my late mother, whom I took over from, been there for my grandparents, tending and attending to their daily needs, that became part of me,” she recalled.

She continued that after the death of her grandfather particularly, she  adopted the idea of caring for the elderly in her church. “Then I took it into the larger society.”

As a non fir profit and Non Governmental Organisation that advocates and propagates the need to help, invigorate and rehabilitate the Senior Citizens (Old people) in the society, the convener says touching lives is her priority.

“Our motto, ‘Positively Affecting Lives (PALs)’, our mission ‘Dispense total care by providing financial assistance and emotional support to the vulnerable’, we crave to touch lives, create change, redefine and dispense hope”, she added.

While addressing the media in Lagos today, the Aderonke assured newsmen that “We engage, help and grant all forms of support to the aged”.

Meanwhile, OAOE is also actively involved in various charity programmes geared towards assisting the widows, the motherless children and physically challenged in the society.

Her words: “Our work so far has been self sponsored, support from few companies and passionate individuals who shares in the vision of the Foundation”.

“Going forward, we are putting measures in place to build a sustainable home that offers value and pulls in the resources to effectively carry out our mission,” she said.

In line with this, we invite in-partnership, Prestigious Organisation to come sponsor the foundation at our Charity & Fundraising Ball which is scheduled to hold on September 14 this year at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island Lagos by 4pm.

Therefore, the founder and Entrepreneur said that the event would encompass a number of novel programmes around the aged especially the official unveiling of the Adult Care Centre (Old People’s Home) and a fashion line for the aged which has been created to sustain the Foundation.

“The Home will provide a decent and wholesome environment for the vulnerable aged,” she said
