Meet Dr Mike Omotosho, the man Nigeria dearly needs right now

*Meet  His Excellency DR. MIKE OMOTOSHO*


Born on the 14th of January in Zaria and holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree from the Ahmadu Bello University School of Pharmacy Zaria, Kaduna State.   He also holds a Certificate in Policy and Public Management from the University of London, a Masters Certificate in Supply Chain Management from the University of San Francisco, California, Chartered Manager of Successful Programmes, a Certified Manager of Risk in Projects, a 2008 graduate of the Leadership Development Program of the Prestigious Harvard Business School, Boston, Massachusetts, USA and also a Doctorate Degree in Professional Ethics from Trinity College, Seychelles.

As the chairman of Sustainable healthcare International, Dr Omotosho has significant expertise in Supply Chain Management and Distribution of Commodities having worked on several Health Programmes. Mike has significantly contributed to the widespread distribution of sustainable healthcare delivery especially in intervention areas as it relates to reversing Malaria, Pneumonia, HIV/ AIDS etc which has impacted over 2,500,000 Nigerians!

Mike Omotosho joined politics in year 2014 and ran for the position of Governor of Kwara State of Nigeria in the 2015 general elections.

Mike is known within the Rotary Circle as *BIG Mike*, but in the political arena of Kwara State, he is known and referred to as *Omo to Sure*.

Dr. Mike Omotsho helped in expanding the reach of Toastmasters International across West Africa, DTM Mike Omotosho helped empower thousands of professionals and leaders to become the speakers & leaders they dreamt of becoming. Dr. Mike served as the District Governor of Toastmasters District 94 (West Africa) in 2013-14 Toastmaster year, he was voted the best Governor of Toastmaster worldwide a feat never achieved before from Africa.

In Rotary, Mike was Bulletin Editor for four consecutive years and variously the Director of Club Administration, Club Public Relations, Club Secretary, Vice President/President-Elect and Make Dreams Real President winning 18 Awards including the Rotary International Significant Achievement award, the coveted Overall Best Club and a mention in the June 2009 edition of “The Rotarian”. Three time District Recognition award winner, Mike is a recipient of the Rotary International Four Avenues of Service Award from RI President William Stenhammer in 2006. He belongs to 3 International fellowships and is a founding member of the fellowship of Reading Rotarians and Rotarians against Malaria. Mike has attended all District Conferences and Rotary International Conventions since joining Rotary. He has served in District Committees like District Leadership Seminar Coordinator, District PHF Monitor, District Internet communications Officer, District Chair of History & Archives, District Public Relations Committee Chair, District Governor Special Representative, Assistant Governor, Assistant Aide to RI President’s Representative, Assistant Aide to RI President, Aide to The Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair, Chair for District Permanent Funds, GSE Team Leader – Outbound, Vice Chairman for RYLA, Vice Chairman – World Understanding Day Celebration. He is a member of RI Bequest Society and a Benefactor. A Second level Major Donor since 2008, he is on the Roll of Honour of the Rotary House, Lagos. Mike is a member of the Arch C. Klump Society and the First African to have a Termed Gift under the Future Vision Plan of The Rotary Foundation. He is the Governor, Rotary International district 9125 Nigeria covering the whole of North West, North East, North Central, South
West excluding Lagos and Ogun States.

He is a recipient of the prestigious 2013 Kwame Nkrumah Leadership Award.

He was recently inducted into the All African Students Union Hall of Fame.  Also a recipient of 2015 PAN African Humanitarian Award, Ghana and  ICON of Culture award 2015.

Dr. Omotosho is the recipient of several Chieftancy titles; 38 as at last count including:

 the Marmarin Kartungo in Gombe State,

Omoprouha 1 of Isu ancient Kingdom in IMO State,

 Otunba Mayegun of Iyire Owo in Ondo State

and Torgbi Akpohurnu 1 of the Atagba Traditional Council in the Volta Region of Republic of Ghana.

He is also a member of the prestigious Chatham House, London and is a My EO Champion of the global Entrepreneurs Organization.

Mike is the Author of 5 books including the World’s Thickest Book; My Dream Nigeria, a Guinness Record with almost 20,000 pages
Dr Mike Omotosho is the Sitting National Chairman of the Labor Party.

He is happily married to Misi and they have 4 children.

THIS IS WHY INEC STOPPED RECOGNISING ABURE AS THE NATIONAL CHAIRMAN OF LABOUR PARTY The Nigeria Labour Congress has written the Independent National Electoral Commission, urging it to halt any support for the national convention of the Labour Party scheduled for March 27, 2024. In a Friday letter addressed to the Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, the NLC accused the Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr Julius Abure, and his associates of planning an illegal convention in defiance of court orders. The NLC’s solicitors, Falana and Falana’s Chambers, in the letter dated March 22, 2024, highlighted the illegality of such a gathering, citing previous court rulings that declared the Labour Party’s status and ordered inclusive conventions. Ignore all machinations, Sola Ebiseni remains the Governorship candidate of Labour Party. Once again, the Labour Party Campaign Organisation is inundated with calls on the purported replacement of Chief Sola Ebiseni, our Governorship candidate, with Ayo Olorunfemi less than 24 hours to the Ondo State Governorship election tomorrow. Contrary to the false report, the candidacy of Ebiseni was the decision of the Party presided over by the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure of which Ayo Olorunfemi is a member after the latter, who was a placeholder, voluntarily withdrew his candidacy backed with sworn affidavit, an undisputed fact confirmed by the Courts. For the umpteenth time and avoidance of doubt, Ayo Olorunfemi was not a party to any of the cases either at the High Court or the Court of Appeal and his Appeal as an Interested party was dismissed.
