Chad has withdrawn from the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers due to the economic situation in the country, and will not honour the return leg against Tanzania on March 28, according to Chad Football Association Secretary General,Mahamoud. According to the regulations of CAF, the teams in Group G have been reduced to three, Egypt, Nigeria and Tanzania, and previous matches against Chad will no longer be taken into account in the ranking. An eight-year-old pupil of Prospect Primary School located in Akute, Ogun State was arrested and detained by the Ajuwon Police Division for reporting a teacher in his school. The schoolboy identified as Oyindamola Onimole was reportedly held by the police between 6pm on Wednesday and 12pm on Thursday, after he reported his teacher identified as Mrs. Oni to his mother.  According to reports, the teacher had maltreated the young boy at school and the child reported the matter to his mother.  The boy’s mother then visited the school to complain about the assault to the authorities. Young boys who made up a robbery gang have been nabbed in the middle of their evil craft after they grabbed a bag containing fufu and stew without realizing their folly.  Three suspected teenage robbers were on Friday arrested by the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, of the Lagos State Police Command for snatching a handbag containing wraps of ‘fufu’ and beef stew thinking they had made a fortune. The suspects, Daniel Dali, 19, Emmanuel Ashaolu, 17 and Bright Ikenna, 17, who specialised in snatching valuables using motorcycles, aka okada, were arrested around 10:48pm in the Ajegunle area by a team of RRS men on patrol. Dali, an okada rider from Cotonu, and Ashaolu were said to have snatched a handbag from a yet-to-be identified lady and unknown to them, the bag contained two wraps of fufu and stew. One of the three deputy governors of the Central Bank of Nigeria is currently on suspension for being involved in ‘a sophisticated plot’ to defraud the bank a huge sum of money, findings have revealed.  Top officials of the CBN close to the development told us that two directors of the bank were also suspended over the multi-million naira scam.  The officials, who spoke under the condition of anonymity because they were not authorised to speak on the matter, said their suspension was ordered by the CBN Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, after preliminary findings revealed that they might be culpable.  The CBN had on Thursday night said it had uncovered what it described as a highly sophisticated plot to defraud the bank by some people.  The bank said in a statement by the Acting Director, Corporate Communications, Isaac Okoroafor, that while preliminary investigations had not revealed any accomplices within the bank, some personnel within the CBN...

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has discovered and closed down a methamphetamine laboratory, in Asaba Delta state.  The laboratory was a joint operation between Nigerians and Mexicans, and from where a drug trafficking organization operates around the country.  According to Mitchell Ofoyeju, NDLEA’s Head of Public Affairs, the laboratory bears similarity to those found in Mexico and is the first of such to be discovered in Nigeria.  The anti-drug trafficking official noted that the laboratory has a production capacity of between 3,000kg to 4,000kg of methamphetamine per production cycle.  “A significant feature of this laboratory is that the production process is more technical and sophisticated because it uses the synthesis method of methamphetamine production.”  “All the principal actors linked to this illicit act were apprehended in a simultaneous raid on members of the drug syndicate in Lagos, Obosi in Anambra S...

The former Senate President, David Mark was shot at by Fulani herdsmen yesterday during an assessment visit to the destroyed Agatu communities in Benue State. A woman in Eleme in Rivers state and a former hairdresser, Mother of Seven recently gave birth to Triplets all alone in her home in Rivers state without the help of doctors.    When asked how she had done it she said she wasn't feeling labor as at the time of the occurrence, she said she just told her children to help her lay on the ground then water gushed out from her before she knew something was coming out from her then she gave birth to her first set of the triplets before her husband invited a woman who helped out in the delivery of the remaining two.  Her husband has now called on the public, Government to help the family so they can take care of their kids.

Let me start from the beginning so it’s easy to understand.  In 2005, actress and mother of three Ibinabo Fiberesima was involved in a vehicle accident on Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos that cost a man his life.  She vied off her lane and hit the car of a doctor, Giwa Suraj, who was a staff of Lagos state hospital. Ibinabo was arrested for dangerous and reckless driving and charged her to court.   The case went to court and the Igbosere magistrate court sentenced her to five years in prison with an option of N100k fine.  Ibinabo apologized to the man’s family, paid the N100k fine and thought the case was over but the Lagos state government objected to the fine and took the case to a high court…   The High Court then said that the Magistrate court was reckless when they gave Ibinabo an option of fine for such an offence.  The High court judge tossed out the N100k option and sentenced Ibinabo to five years in prison...

He wrote;  “An appeal has been made by Mr Adekunle Balogun of Abesan Estate in Ipaja to the Lagos state government, for assistance over his triplets. Titilayo, the mother of the triplets died shortly after the CS conducted on her at the Ifako Ijaiye general hospital on February 10.  Late Titilayo was married for three years without a child and just when she was about to start enjoying motherhood, the cold jaws of death snatched her.
