APC snubs Faleke, stuns with new candidate

After a much contested and drawn out period of time, the national leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has chosen Yahaya Bello as the party’s New candidate for the Kogi State Governorship supplementary election slated for December 5, 2015.
According to a top APC chieftain, the decision was made last night by the party leadership.
Bello, who came second in the August 29, 2015 party primaries, will replace the late Abubakar Audu on the APC ticket after the demise of the latter on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the peak of the collation of the election results.
Few days ago, the late Audu’s running mate in the inconclusive poll,  James Faleke, wrote both the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and his party, the APC, telling them why he ought to be declared G‎overnor-elect after the death of Audu having jointly secured votes substantially required by the Constitution to win an election.
At about the same time, some leaders of the Kogi State branch of the party also presented the first son of the deceased politician, Mohammed Audu, to the national leadership of the APC in order to step into his late father’s shoes as the governorship candidate.
The party hierarchy apparently ignored all these submissions and settled for Bello from Kogi C‎entral in order not to run too far foul of the law.
While the late Audu polled 1,109 votes to defeat 26 other aspirants who contested with him, Bello polled 702 votes to become Audu’s closest challenger in the keenly contested governorship primary election which was adjudged free and fair.

We find that statement to be shocking, appalling, awful, disgraceful, horrible and extremely shameful.  However we must state that we are not surprised at his comment especially as he had always exhibited acts of betrayal, disloyalty, treachery and outright breach of trust. Ignore all machinations, Sola Ebiseni remains the Governorship candidate of Labour Party. Once again, the Labour Party Campaign Organisation is inundated with calls on the purported replacement of Chief Sola Ebiseni, our Governorship candidate, with Ayo Olorunfemi less than 24 hours to the Ondo State Governorship election tomorrow. Contrary to the false report, the candidacy of Ebiseni was the decision of the Party presided over by the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure of which Ayo Olorunfemi is a member after the latter, who was a placeholder, voluntarily withdrew his candidacy backed with sworn affidavit, an undisputed fact confirmed by the Courts.
