Kanu's detention: Protesters shut down Nigerian High Commission in London

Members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) on Tuesday stormed the streets of London, United Kingdom (UK) to protest the continued detention of Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu by the Department of State Security (DSS).

The protesters blocked the entrances to the Nigerian High Commission in London at Trafalgar Square, Westminster and crippled its activities for several hours.

With placards, they chanted pro-Biafra songs and denounced Kanu's detention which they said flouts both Nigerian and international laws.
They also grounded business activities at the embassy at Charring Cross. Visa seekers and persons who came for other businesses were turned back as the place had to close because IPOB members occupied it.
