Lone Chibok girl escapes from Boko Haram – Femi Adesina

An alleged schoolgirl who was one of those abducted by the Boko Haram in 2014 has escaped from captivity, a presidential aide has told the BBC.


The girl was reportedly found by government troops while she was escaping, Femi Adesina said, without giving details.

The girl was reportedly one of the 276 girls kidnapped by Boko Haram from Chibok town in 2014, sparking global outrage.



A total of 103 of the girls have been released so far, including 82 earlier this month in a prisoner swap.
The 82 girls, who met  President Muhammadu Buhari on May 7, are expected to be reunited with their families later this week.

Once again, the Labour Party Campaign Organisation is inundated with calls on the purported replacement of Chief Sola Ebiseni, our Governorship candidate, with Ayo Olorunfemi less than 24 hours to the Ondo State Governorship election tomorrow. Contrary to the false report, the candidacy of Ebiseni was the decision of the Party presided over by the National Working Committee led by Julius Abure of which Ayo Olorunfemi is a member after the latter, who was a placeholder, voluntarily withdrew his candidacy backed with sworn affidavit, an undisputed fact confirmed by the Courts.
