Libyan traffickers used migrants to test weapons –Returnee

MORE victims of forced slavery, who were recently repatriated to Nigeria from Libya, have narrated their ordeal in the hands of human traffickers in the north African country. One of them, who gave his name as Lucky Akoluche, said the traffickers used migrants, including Nigerians, to test the efficacy of their firearms. Akoluche, a 28-year-old man from Ikah North-East Local Government Area of Delta State, told  Southern City News  that the armed traffickers did not value the lives of their victims. “The Libyans killed people the way they liked. When they bought new guns, they used human beings to test the guns. They call us black monkeys,” the returnee stated. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, has reacted to a statement credited to the National Leader of the  APC, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu,  which said there would be no automatic ticket for Pres. Buhari in 2019 Presidential Election, as against the position of APC governors. Lagos Baale crushes wife to death with Jeep

A traditional ruler in Ise Town, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, Taibu Ogunbanjo, is currently cooling his heels in police custody for allegedly crushing his wife to death. The  baale  runs a block-moulding factory at Folu, a community in Ibeju Lekki. We learnt that Taibu and his wife, Rotimi Ogunbanjo, got married three years ago, but the marriage had been fraught with misunderstanding and fights. On Thursday, December 7, 2017, the couple reportedly had a disagreement. After the altercation, Rotimi was said to have gone to the  baale’ s factory and damaged some blocks on the premises. Taibu reportedly entered his Toyota Highlander, and was driving out of the premises in anger when he knocked down his wife. The police have launched #SupportSARS campaign in a bid to check the massive opposition to the state anti-robbery squad (SARS). Tweeting via #EndSARS, some Nigerians have been calling on the authorities to scrap the anti-crime unit over the alleged excesses of some of its personnel. The campaign gained momentum and not even the response of Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police, who ordered the reorganisation of SARS, made the protesters drop their demand. In a series of tweets, the police said members of the public have been seeing reforms in SARS after the intervention of the IGP.
