According to reports, a 44 years old Benin-based native doctor, simply identified as Owe, was on friday, stabbed in his chest, at his residence, by his second wife's best friend, during a fight. The incident occurred at his residence, just opposite, Use Market Road Junction, Upper Siluko Road, Benin. The suspected attacker (name withheld), who is now in police custody, is said to be a friend of the victim's second wife. Trouble allegedly began on the fateful day when the deceased who returned from the house of his third wife where he allegedly spent the night, did not meet the second wife at home, but was informed that the woman was away to Lagos Street, in Benin, for shopping. Justice Muazu Pindiga, the former chairman of the Rivers state governorship petitions tribunal who was removed under questionable circumstances has spoken up about the ordeal he went through just before he was dismissed as judge of the tribunal. According to Premium Times, Pindiga availed that two weeks before he was dismissed, he was threatened.He also revealed that soon after, there was an attempt to bribe him and later on he was sacked. He said: “Two weeks before I was removed as chairman of the Tribunal, I got a call from an unknown number, asking for an appointment for us to meet in Kaduna. And I asked, what for? “And the caller said, it’s on a need to know basis. That the details of the meeting would be made known to me in Kaduna. NCC withdraws ‘data floor price’ for telecoms operato

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) on Monday said it has withdrawn the “data floor price’’ for operators in the telecommunications industry.  “Floor price’’ is a government or group-imposed price control or the limit a price can be charged for a product to check unhealthy rivalry among players. In a statement in Lagos, the commission said that the withdrawal was in a bid to ensure sustainability, growth and development of the data service market segment. “However, the commission will restore the floor price if any distortion is observed within the market segment,’’ it said. NAN reports that with the withdrawal of the price, telecommunications industry now has the permission of NCC to charge subscribers lower than the set lowest industry prices. UK planning to deport about 29,000 Nigerians – envoy

The Nigeria High Commission in London says it is worried by the migration and removal policy of the UK Government, which has placed deportation tag on 29,000 Nigerians. The Acting Nigerian High Commissioner in London, Olukunle Bamgbose, gave the indication in his office when he spoke with State House correspondents covering Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s visit to London. Bamgbose said the migration policy came about following the migration crisis created by the troubled regions in the world. He said: “I think about 29,000 Nigerians have been designated to be deported. “We are insisting that due process must be followed before Nigerians are really removed from the UK to Nigeria.” Bamgbose gave four conditions that should be met by the UK immigration office before the commission could accept the migration and deportation agenda. Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, whose election as governor was annulled on Saturday by the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Abuja, has alleged the payment of N23 billion bribe to tribunal judges by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to nullify his election and other South-South states governors.   All the South South governors belong to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Wike, who wrote on his Facebook page, wondered how a party that won all Senate seats, all House of Representatives seats, all State Assembly in the Rivers State, would not win the governorship.   He wrote: Election Petition tribunal was directed to nullify the election of all South-South states governors.
