Judge declines to recognize Barrister Julius Abures Lawyer in court, identifies only with Lamidi Apapa.

At the resumed hearing in the case that was instituted by Lamidi Apapa team against the Independent National Electoral Commission on the 11th of January 2023, to determine the authentic gubernatorial candidate of labour party in Imo state at the last off cycle election. The judge in the matter, Justice Inyang Ekwo, declined to entertain any plea from barrister Kehinde Edun who claimed to be the labour party lawyer and that he was directed by barrister Julius Abure to withdraw the case from the court. In his address to the court, Barrister Oyelekan Akingbade argued that the party’s leadership did not at any time direct or instruct the lawyers handling the matter or any other lawyer to withdraw or discontinue the suit. He said they were desirous of prosecuting the matter to its logical conclusion.
